Mostra edita da Platform
Claudio Saverino is taking part in the exhibition “Peace Builder” – a collective project promoted by Platform, a call to drawing as an act of commitment – with the work "On a Field of Violent Reds and Blacks of Lack of Future."
The exhibition gathers a series of hand-drawn sketches that interpret the theme of “peace building” through architecture. Drawing thus becomes not only a means of expression but also a manifesto of an ethical and civic intention. Every line, every design choice, every volume, every void, every imagined symbol can narrate a different idea of the world: a world where architecture is an ally of peace, social justice, and the possibility of living together.
ON A FIELD OF VIOLENT REDS AND BLACKS OF LACK OF FUTURE
"Probably, many of us perceive the urgency for a radical paradigm shift, for new cultural and anthropological models.
The globalization of the planet has generated energetic and violent reactions: nationalisms, sovereignties, paternalistic populisms, neocolonialisms.
There is a constant need to idealize an enemy, an Other different from Us, to separate, confine, reject, and, even better, overwhelm them.
Walls and borders thus become reassuring and comforting devices in recognizing that part of humankind we believe resembles us, thereby clearly distinguishing ourselves from everything else, which is certainly inferior to us and potentially dangerous.
Superimposed on a field of violent reds and blacks of lack of future is a serene and luminous place.
It is not a square; it is not a circle.
It is an ellipse: a dynamic geometric figure, adaptable in its proportions, possessing a center and two foci. A generator of centrifugal and centripetal forces.
It is the place of encounter, cohesion, and recognition of the other.
Directrices, lines of force, walls, or architectures structure new relational spaces, new directions, and openings to be experimented with and explored.
What you see is only a timid attempt that seeks to graphically materialize two concepts we have known for centuries – and are slightly forgetting: that of the Polis and that of the Civitas."
