Linkong
Our architectural concept for a Shanghai district centers around the dynamic relationship between two fundamental shapes. We proposed a perimeter of office buildings to define the district's edges, creating an enclosure for a central garden. This inner landscape is designed to integrate public, commercial, and residential buildings .
Comprising 80% of the total built volume, the office framework contrasts with the organic and freely designed heart of the district. The garden design is integral to our open space strategy, fostering an image of an environmentally high-quality oasis within the urban context. A key driver of our design was the commitment to achieving a high standard of environmental comfort and substantial energy savings in the district's operation.
