FLANE
Named after the French art of flânerie - the aimless, observant stroll - Flâne is an architectural meditation on the suspension of time.
The layout—featuring the counter with its open kitchen, the dining room with high tables and tactile seating, and the more intimate, secluded "Cave à Vin"—defines a narrative journey through different environments that pace this story. An environment conceived for gathering and connection, where architecture and atmosphere engage in an understated dialogue, offering an experience to be tasted slowly—much like an aimless walk.
The project hinges on the balance between the industrial character of the existing structure — composed of exposed brickwork, large iron-framed windows, and concrete flooring — and the calm, welcoming atmosphere created by natural timbers. Here, the raw oak of the counter and table tops and the refinement of walnut are paired with soft chenille seating and leather banquettes. The diffused lighting from vintage chandeliers combines with focused accents on the kitchen, counter, and tables, creating an atmosphere that is at once elegant and informal.
