LASSERHAUS ART HOTEL
A historic 15th-century house renovated into a boutique hotel
The architectural and interior design project breathed new life into a historic house, finding a balance between the respect for the existing and contemporary ways of living.
In the heart of Brixen in Northern Italy, we reinvented the use and function of a 15th century aristocratic building called Lasserhaus. We transformed the first two floors of the ancient palace into a four-star superior Art Hotel. Nine rooms - including two suites, six doubles and a single - with an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere, in which the classic painting collection of the palace's owner family meets works by contemporary artists, thus making the space a new point of interest for the community.
The last two floors, on the other hand, have been designated as private residences.
With an approach sensitive of the context and respectful to the genius loci, we have reinterpreted the original elements of the residence, making them coexist in a balanced way with contemporary design choices. To enrich the interior of Lasserhaus, there are the works of five contemporary artists who have been involved with the residence's past and who, with their diffuse works, have left a narrative mark on the various spaces. Contemporary art works were also combined with the valuable collection of classical art belonging to the family that owned the palace.
